June is over. I can finally stop and take a BREATH and even…..BLOG!!! First up on the FAVES list, Rosalynn & Jeff’s June 13th wedding at Kings Crossing Country Club. Beautiful venue, amazing decor, but it was Rosalynn and Jeff as a couple that made this day truly extraordinary! I felt so blessed to be a part of it all! Words can’t do justice, so click to see the highlights of the day. …..Oh….and the final highlight that made it all even BETTER???? My new Canon 5D MarkII arrived just the day before so this was my FIRST wedding where I got to PLAY with my new toy!!!!! Lets just say Rosalynn & Jeff were not the only two falling in love that night:)
This is my new favorite thing.
A big shout out to Kyle and his crew from Image Cinema who have branched out to offer more than just amazing videography- they are now offering real life photobooths for weddings (and any event you can think of!:). Anna & Marc’s reception photobooth was a SMASH HIT with guests…..and as you can see before the end of the night my assistant Liana & I jumped in to give it a whirl. We could have stayed in there for ages it was soooo much fun! I know these scanned versions don’t do it justice but these pics are super high quality too…..I love them!!! Its always nice for a change to actually BE in a picture at a wedding:) LOL. Now I am trying to think hard about what kind of even I can have to rent a photobooth for…….

This wedding I confess was a photographers dream….GORGEOUS COUPLE, GORGEOUS VENUE, amazing personalities, and fabulous personal touches…right down the the classic red ‘57 Chevy. I could go on and on, but I will let the photos do the talking. Anna & Marc- thank you for allowing me to share in your special day!!!

This is as far as you go….
Marc- do not click here, in fact just turn off your screen and run…you will see your bride in all her beauty in just two weeks….until then be patient!!!!
Ok, now if you are NOT Marc, you may click the image below and see the amazing result of one bride dedicated to getting amazing photos….despite a full day of early beauty appointments followed by 2 hours of travel to a historic destination where the adventure just began as for two more hours we braved the blazing sun, not to mention a grumpy monk or two and some zealous park rangers. But it was sooooooo worth it!!!!! Click the image to see my faves of Anna (it was HARD to narrow these down!!!). These were all shot in the gorgeous historic Mission San Jose in San Antonio.

With their April 18th wedding date just around the corner, we pulled off this e-session in the nick of time! True to form, this adventurous couple was searching for something original in their shooting location, and we were all able to trek out past Rockport to the tiny town of Lamar, TX where the “Big Tree” State Park is. Big Tree….is just that….a grove of BIG TREES, surrounding one specific giant oak that is historically the oldest living oak in the entire country. Pretty cool…and a gorgeous location right on the water for a whole variety of spots for some really unique shots. Some of my faves are in this post!!! Anna & Marco brought a natural chemistry that made this session a breeze…and now I can’t wait for the wedding day!!
For those of us from Corpus who’s idea of a “big tree” is the one we decorate in our living room for Christmas, I definitely recommend the drive to Lamar to check out the wonder of this pristine grove!

With their due date just around the corner, Tiffany and Ryan are eager to welcome their first baby boy in late April! This will be their first child…unless you are counting Bella, their beloved chihuahua, who I am pretty sure is absolutely unwilling to relinquish her throne as baby of the house. The pics below will show you just how serious Bella is about that too!!!

….Now that we have deterred our groom, we can move on to the fun part!
It is hard to believe its almost here, but yes, ’tis true, my dear assistant and best friend, April, is getting married in just 10 days. Amazing and exciting- I have so much to do to help her get ready that my head is spinning. But we did find time this past weekend to enjoy a bridal session downtown- our goal was to showcase her vintage styled dress almost as a period piece, and so every location was chosen with care. God smiled down a perfect sunset which gave us the rich golden light I LOVE for my shoots. Now the only challenge left is to pick the canvas….not an easy task…..and since Miss A knows all the tricks of the trade, her photoshop requests are so long and extensive it is almost comical…but for her sake I just reply- “as you wish”! Lol. Should have seen that coming…her keen eye and careful attention to detail is what made her my assistant, but I still laugh as she was the first client to ever ask, “can you volumize my hair in this one shot”? Lol. Of course…and I can give you green spots on your nose too. Just kidding she knows I love her and so I am allowed to tease!!! But look on in oohs and aaahs….enjoy the bridal portraits. ….Especially since I am making no guarantees as to the wedding day shots….I will probably be a blubbering mess and have no idea how “shooting blind” will work out:) LOL.
10 days and counting……
A final note to my other lovely brides….pleeeeez don’t wait until the week before your wedding to do your portraits!! Obviously it can be done….but it creates serious gray hairs for everyone involved trying to make sure the canvas arrives on time:) …..Somehow as my assitant she thinks she can get away with murder:) ….Maybe I was too bossy and its payback??? LOL.
Love you, A!!

Vanessa & James finished their whirlwind wedding week while home from Iraq for a short visit this week. The final check mark on their list of to-do’s was this fnatastic e-session we shot downtown. Fabulous couple- can’t wait for the wedding…..May 2009!!!

…….I mean it James!!!!………….
Ok, now that our snooping groom has been duly warned, we can move on to the fun part.
Vanessa gets the award for planning her May 2009 wedding from the farthest distance. How would you like to coordinate all of your wedding vendors from IRAQ???? Wow. So she is courageous and beautiful!
Ceratainly a fave of mine this year, Vanessa has tackled mountain after mountain of wedding setbacks, and doesn’t let it stop her from the thrill of anticipation for the wedding day and love she feels for her fiance. The setbacks she faced awaiting the bridal portraits would have made any other bride throw in the towel- but with only this week in the states available for her to get everything wedding related done, Vanessa stepped up and worked it! I will leave the behind the scenes details behind the scenes but I will just say I am so proud of her for putting her inhibitions aside and working the camera like a pro!!!! Awesome. As you can see from these shots….it was well worth it!!!!
